The Maratonina dei 3 Comuni connects Civita Castellana, Nepi, and Castel Sant’Elia, a tradition that began in 1980 when a group of passionate runners first brought the sport to the area. Today, the event attracts over 2,200 athletes and dozens of volunteers, offering a full day of sport, history, and enjoyment.
The course, weaving through historic towns, gentle hills, and flat stretches, is challenging but rewarding, starting at the Forte Sangallo in Civita Castellana and passing through some of Tuscia’s most picturesque landscapes. This winter race combines competition, stunning scenery, and a warm finish line welcome, with the smiles of participants proving why it’s truly the “Queen of Winter Races.”
