Gran Fondo Pirineus
12.06.2027
If you’re looking for one of the most spectacular and demanding cycling events in Europe, the Gran Fondo Pirineus delivers a true mountain experience in the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees.
Set in the stunning province of Girona, this road cycling challenge takes place around the beautiful village of Camprodon, a postcard-perfect mountain town where your adventure begins and ends surrounded by rivers, peaks, and pure Pyrenean atmosphere.
This Gran Fondo offers three route options, making it accessible while still uncompromising in its challenge:
144 km with 3,600 m of elevation gain for the strongest climbers
122 km with 2,400 m for a demanding yet slightly more manageable epic ride
78 km with 1,400 m for riders discovering their first true mountain cycling challenge
No matter the distance, riders face a constant sequence of climbs, winding mountain roads, and legendary passes such as Coll de Santigosa, Capsacosta, and the ascent toward Vallter 2000. This is a course where endurance, pacing, and mental strength matter as much as physical power.
The landscapes are equally unforgettable: alpine valleys, high-altitude roads, and charming villages like Beget and Oix, considered among the most beautiful in Spain. Every kilometer feels like a journey through a cinematic mountain world.
At the finish, riders are welcomed back into Camprodon for a well-earned recovery atmosphere, including a traditional pasta party and a vibrant village setting perfect for relaxing after a day of climbing.
More than just a cycling event, the Gran Fondo Pirineus is a complete endurance experience — combining performance, nature, and the spirit of the Pyrenees into one unforgettable ride.
